reception's blog

It is clear that Summer is gone and Autumn has arrived in St Cuthbert's! The children have been fascinated by the leaves changing colour and the change in temperature. Today they gathered lots of different leaves, conkers and acorns for our exploration box. It was lovely to hear the rich language being discussed as they stuck their leaves on their paper in our creative area.

We love outside!

We love playing outside in all weather in Reception! It was lovely to see the children using lists to help with their turn taking in our outdoor classroom. The children created some fantastic drawings using our chunky chalk and there were some great football skills being showcased.

Let it snow...

Even in the middle of September it's not too early to be dreaming about snow. Today the children enjoyed using polystyrene in the outdoor classroom to create snow. The wind helped create our very own snowstorm which as you can see was enjoyed immensely.

Our Class Agreement

This week we have been creating our class agreement which has some special rules for our classroom. The children have all painted their portraits to show they will all follow the rules which they have created for our classroom.

Another day full of smiles in Reception

We have had another lovely day in Reception with plenty of smiles as the children are becoming more confident in their new environment. It is great to see them beginning to develop friendship bonds with their peers and of course catching those moments on camera.
