Food hygiene

Today the children learned about how we can prepare our food safely without spreading germs. They worked in groups to create colourful posters about different areas of food hygiene. (e.g.: washing our hands, keeping surfaces clean and clear and using different boards to prepare food)

Topic - Houses and Homes

This week the children have been learning about the different types of houses and homes the rich and poor lived in long ago.

The children used different materials and learnt new skills to create a rich and a poor home.

Rafa - "Poor people had small gardens where they grew herbs and vegetables."

Yvie - "Rich people had water fountains and hedges in the shape of animals."

James - "Poor people used straw and rich people used tiles for their roofs."

The Gifts of the Holy Spirit

On Thursday during RE year 2 had a visitor Mr. Hoskins (Ciara’s Godfather). He told us of the Journey that Jesus our Lord from Palm Sunday to Pentecost made. He explained about the 7 gifts that the Holy Spirit gave us and how he guides us in our daily life.  The children really enjoyed learning about the Holy Spirit.

Roxy - "I had one of the 12 Fruits of the Holy Spirit which was thoughfulness. I really liked all the pictures that showed Jesus’ journey."

Chloe –  "I held the gift of Knowledge which helps us to understand God."

Christian- "I liked learning about one of Jesus’ disciples who didn’t believe he was alive until he saw the holes in his hands. People call him doubting Thomas!"
