Exploring materials

During our Science lesson today the children explored an unusual material - corn flour slime.
They enjoyed stirring it, pulling it, rubbing it and rolling it!
They could not believe how a material can be both solid and liquid.

"When I rolled it between my hands it felt like powder." Samuel
"I enjoyed the corn flour slime experiment because I love Science!" Cailley
"I thought it was glue with water. It was very sticky!" Rosie

Bible covers

During Religious Education the children learned about the Bible. We discussed why it is important to us and what the first and the second part of the Bible tell us.

The children were then asked to design a cover for the Bible.

Maths in Year 2

During Mathematics the children ordered and compared 2-digit numbers, placed them on a number line and solved place value additions and subtractions. Some of the children were asked to choose a 2-digit number, highlight it on a 100-square and then using a 100 bead string to match the correct number.
