Year 6 Match Report – St Cuthbert’s vs St Ann’s

On Wednesday 7th October we played St Ann’s hoping to bounce back from last week’s defeat against St Jude’s. Our starting line-up was Ben in goal, Edward and Joseph W in defence, and Karl, Charlie R and George in midfield.  Joseph J was up front and we had Charlie B, Nicholas, Alfie and Mateus on the bench.

The game kicked off and it started to look like an even game with both keepers in form.  St Cuthbert’s were first to score with a cross from George and a lovely headed goal from Joe J. Following that, George put in another cross and this time Charlie R headed it home. It was now 2-0 to St Cuthbert’s with 10 minutes to go in the first half. We thought this was going to be an easy game but we were wrong as St Ann’s played well. The half time score was 3-2 to St Ann’s.

In the second half, we still played really well and were unlucky not to get a few more goals.  With 10 minutes to go George won a free kick, decided to take it and put it in the back of net. Now it was 3-3. By now all 4 of our substitutes had come on and we continued to play well.  We could have nicked it in the last minute but were unlucky not to.

The final score was 3-3. We all played exceptionally well and didn’t let our heads drop and we look forward to our next game.

Match Report Y5 & 6 Girls Team Vs St. Judes

St Jude vs St Cuthbert’s what a match it was. As the first match of the season we played really well with our new players and took many good shots but sadly they were all saved. St Jude had a really strong team and scored 5 goals in the first half. Being 5-0 down every single player tried even harder in second half and our goalie did some amazing saves. Unluckily, by the end of the match we lost 9-0 but left with our heads held high because we knew we had done the best we could.
