Learning

Children come to school, primarily, to learn. Whether this is in a structured classroom lesson, on the sports field or in the playground learning social skills, the staff at St Cuthbert’s believe passionately in the uniqueness of every child and their needs and that our shared Catholic faith should be central to all our learning.

We teach a broad and balanced curriculum, designed to meet all statutory requirements but also to encourage children to teach themselves and each other in an environment of mutual respect.  In this section you will find information on what each class will be focussing on this term (Curriculum Outlines) and also an overview of our approach to some of the core subjects we teach.

If you have any questions about teaching and learning at St Cuthbert’s, please pop in to have a chat with any of the staff.
