Finding shady places to play

This afternoon Reception decided it was much too hot in the sun and we set off in search of shady places to learn and play. We enjoyed playing in the dens and having snack under the shady tree in our school field. It was a lovely place to listen to our fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty before finishing our day in the Garden of Reflection saying our end of day prayers.

Outdoor Learning

It was great to see the children in the outdoor environment helping to look after each other and our plants. It was great to see them bringing each other their water bottles and remind anyone whose sun hat had fallen off to put it back on. The hot weather didn't stop us from learning in our outdoor space. We talked about dehydration, sun cream and how important staying safe in the sun is.

The children in Reception have enjoyed hiding a range of toys in our classroom and using clues to guide their friends to find the objects. They are developing their confidence in using prepositional phrases to describe where their treasure is hidden.

Outstanding Role Models

It is safe to say we were all very proud of our Reception children on our school visit to the Village Hall. They were all very confident in ordering and paying for their own food. As you can tell they really enjoyed their food and were complimented by the staff for their impeccable manners.

Finding the right money....

Today during Magical Maths we have been preparing our money for going on our school visit to the Village Hall. It was great to see the children use their Home Leanring to identify and select the right amount for their snacks.
