year 3's blog

WOW! What a fantastic, fact filled day! Jack (our prehistoric guide), showed us the timeline of mankind and the important developments that took place. He wowed us with a wide range of artefacts. Thank you to everyone who helped with costumes!

Sandwich Bot

Today year 3 had a look at creating an algorithm to instruct a pretend robot to make a jam sandwich. They soon realised this wasn't simple and they had to think logically aswell as solve 'bugs' (mistakes) in their instructions. We then talked about how we would need to change it into code. No sandwich bots were harmed in the making, they just got a bit sticky!

Cave Painting

Yesterday, our classroom turned into our own cave so we could create some cave art. We got messy, using our hands and natural objects like sticks to paint our pictures with. Prehistoric cave art has been found all over the world and now it can be found in St Cuthbert's.

Stone Age, Bone Age!

Today in Year 3, we traveled back in time and went on a Stone Age adventure and started to discover how clever our Stone Age ancestors were! We looked at a timeline and found all about prehistory.

After some great designing and then creating, year 3 also proved how great they were at tidying up! Great DT !
