year 5's blog

London Sea life centre

Saskia said I liked the Sharks and I liked the octopus and how friendly they were. I also liked the Penguins when they swim really fast. I learnt some good facts like the fin of a shark is tasteless. Sharks get killed every 5seconds so there are hardly any sharks left.

Harriet said I loved the Penguins when I was taking a picture they followed my camera! The sharks were very fast and the Rays were energetic, some of them did back flips! I really liked the talk about the octopus the keeper knew so much. FACT that if octopus get bored they will chew their arms!

Dissolving fun

We are finding out how much water it takes to dissolve 2 tablespoons of granulated or powdered substances. We discussed the reasons for our findings and presented our results in a table.

In topic we have been looking at rivers and river pollution. The children have created games, posters and plays to tell the rest of the class what they have learned.

Tearing up the track

Quad biking in the sun... What more could a ten year old want? As you can see the children really got in to it. Who knows we may have the next Lewis Hamilton in our midst!

What a shot!

It was Year Five's turn to dust off their bows and hit the target. The children did a great job at hitting the bullseye. Maria's action shot is particularly spectacular!
