year 5's blog

We had a great start to our Vikings Topic this afternoon. It was really cool to see the effort that some people had gone to over half term to create their helmets. Others chose to communicate their research through posters and models. Year Five were at their creative best this afternoon.

As you might know, we have been studying Kandinsky in our Art lessons. This afternoon we went big with Kandinsky! We looked at what we know about how he represents objects and tried to create our own Kandinsky style pictures.

More of our props

Here are some more pictures of our props and favourite books.

World Book Week

It was great to see everyone bring in their favourite books and a prop to go with them today. Year five had a nice collection of fiction and non-fiction texts. We finished the day with a lovely story from Mrs
Happy reading everyone

Art Day

Wow! What a fantastic start to the week! Today we had great fun learning new art skills and painting in the style of Kandinsky. We tried to paint the idea of a shape, rather than the actual shape. What can you see in our artwork?
